Lambda Chi Alpha is one of the largest men's general fraternities in North America. The youngest of the 20 national social fraternities, Lambda Chi Alpha has initiated over 270,000 members at more than 300 universities.

Nationally, Lambda Chi Alpha has abolished hazing and pledging with the Associate Member period. Locally, we have not only eliminated both of these concepts, but we continue to motivate other Greek chapters and their members to adopt similar policies. Our open motto is Vir Quisque Vir, directly translated meaning "Every man a man." To us, every brother, associated member, and individual is created equally, and should be treated accordingly. Brotherhood is not established through hazing, tests, nor degrading activites, but rather should be fostered through a variety of genuine social interactions. Lambda Chi Alpha offers its new members an unparalleled amount of freedom within the chapter. New members are not separated into their respective "pledge classes," forced to attend different meetings, or exiled from their supposed "brothers." New members can participate in every fraternity event and meeting, they can hold offices and committee positions, and they can even wear letters.

The UCLA chapter is backed by strong alumni support which includes Cobi Jones, Will Forte, Larry Brown, etc. For weekly chapter meetings, prominent alumni are in attendance to offer their help and advice.
